Meters : Besides electricity meters (including those capable of wireless transmission of data), we use this term to include meter components and devices such as thermostats that are used to control electric devices

MCI : Meter Communication Infrastructure; Networking and communications infrastructure, including communication devices and network management software, to collect and transmit meter information

MDM : Meter Data Management; Manage and analyze meter information
